Canon enhances its leading PowerShot SX-range with the launch of the impressive PowerShot SX220 HS. This outstanding new compact super-zoom digital camera model combines high-zoom performance, wide-angle flexibility and Full Manual control in a slim, sleek, pocket-friendly design. Replacing the popular and highly-acclaimed PowerShot SX210 IS, the new Canon PowerShot SX220HS offers a leading set of features perfect for capturing your travels. The new Canon digital camera includes Canon’s HS System for outstanding picture quality in all conditions, a wide-angle 14x optical zoom lens, as well as Full HD (1080p) movie recording with stereo sound.
- HS System (12.1 MP) : HS System excels in low light allowing you to capture the real atmosphere of the moment without the need for flash or a tripod. A high performance DIGIC 4 processor and high sensitivity image sensor give superior image quality in all situations.
- 28mm with 14x zoom and Optical IS : A wide-angle lens with a huge 14x telephoto reach of up to 392mm* (*35mm equiv.) allows you to frame exactly the shot you want, whether shooting panoramic landscapes or zooming in on distant subjects. The optical Image Stabilizer provides a 4-stop benefit so you can shoot 4 shutter steps slower than would otherwise be necessary to achieve a blur-free shot.
- Full HD with optical zoom. Dynamic IS and Stereo sound : High quality movies can now be recorded in Full HD 1080p format with stereo sound. The optical zoom can be used for filming while Dynamic IS reduces the effect of shake and movement while shooting on the move.
- Wide 7.5 cm (3.0″) PureColor II G LCD : Images are easy to frame thanks to a large 7.5 cm (3.0”) high resolution PureColor II G LCD. A tempered glass outer layer offers increased strength and excellent visibility in all lighting conditions.
- Smart Auto : Smart Auto is truly automatic – detecting up to 32 different shooting scenes so you can take great pictures in complete confidence, knowing that the camera will take care of everything, leaving you free to enjoy the moment.
- High-speed Burst & Super Slow Motion Movie : Capture fast-paced action using the High-speed Burst mode or slow down movement using
- Super Slow Motion Movie mode. Both modes provide dramatic and spectacular ways of recording fast-moving subjects.
- Movie Digest & iFrame movie : Movie Digest captures up to 4-seconds of the action before a shot is taken, joining all the clips together from the same day into a single VGA movie to add to your collection of photos. The iFrame video format is a simple way to quickly import, edit and share video.
- Manual Control : From semi-automatic Av and Tv modes to Full Manual the PowerShot SX220 HS gives you the choice to control one single aspect of the exposure or take complete control and be as creative as you want.
- Waterproof Case : An optional waterproof case (WP-DC42) allows you to dive at depths down to 40m as well as protecting the camera from dust, dirt and damage.
